Community Guidelines
Esmeringle is a place to meet new people and have a good conversation. These rules keep it that way. They apply to every one-to-one chat and group channel, and they sit alongside our Terms of Service and the laws of the Philippines.
Be respectful
- No harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats or abuse.
- Do not send sexual messages or content to someone who has not clearly welcomed it. Unwanted sexual remarks, persistent advances and stalking can be gender-based online sexual harassment under the Safe Spaces Act (Republic Act No. 11313).
- Keep conversations free of sexual or offensive content; our systems show a reminder when they notice it, and repeated or serious breaches lead to restrictions.
- Respect it when someone ends the chat or presses Next. Do not follow them to another channel.
Absolutely not allowed
- Anything sexual involving a minor, or any attempt to groom or exploit a child. This is a serious crime (Republic Act No. 9775 and No. 11930). Esmeringle is for adults only; if someone appears to be a minor, end the chat.
- Sharing or threatening to share intimate images or videos of anyone without their consent (Republic Act No. 9995).
- Threats of violence, self-harm encouragement, or defaming a real person.
- Scams, phishing, fake giveaways, begging for money, or impersonating a person or Esmeringle.
- Trafficking, illegal gambling, illegal drugs, weapons, or any other unlawful activity.
Protect privacy
- Do not ask for or share private information: full names, addresses, schools, workplaces, phone numbers, passwords, OTPs or financial details.
- Do not publish other people’s personal data (“doxxing”).
- Links, web addresses and email addresses are blocked. Do not try to get around that, for example by spelling out a domain.
Play fair
- No spam, advertising, or repeated messages. No bots, scripts or scraping.
- Do not try to bypass the Turnstile check, rate limits, blocks or bans, or return under a new identity after a ban.
In group channels
- Channels are public and temporary. Pick a name that is not offensive or misleading; names with links or explicit words are rejected.
- Stay on friendly terms with everyone in the room, not only the person you are talking to.
What happens when rules are broken
We may block messages, end conversations, close channels, or restrict a device, with or without warning. Serious cases, including anything involving children, may be preserved and reported to the authorities as the law requires. If you think a restriction is a mistake, email support@esmeringle.xyz.
You are always in control: leave with Stop, find someone new with Next, or Block a person. See Safety information for tips and where to get help.
